Sarah Howells

Broadcaster, publicist, MC, writer, DJ, voice over artist, traveler, explorer.

You probably best know Sarah from her twelve years broadcasting on Australia's national youth broadcaster triple j. She hosted and produced Weekend Lunch and Roots N All, and was the voice of the roots music scene in Australia for nine years. The program showcased the best blues, reggae, soul, funk, alt-country and world music from Australia and internationally.

Graduating from the youth network, Sarah has also been presenting diverse radio programs across ABC Radio. She hosted Evenings across Queensland in 2016, melding talkback with her expert knowledge of music and journalism. She's been busy - presenting just about every shift across ABC Radio Queensland, ABC Gold Coast and nationally on Australia's largest radio network.

She currently presents Stir It Up on Double J, warming you up from the inside with blues, folk, reggae and roots music every Wednesday night from 8-10pm nationally. The program delves deep into the music, the stories behind the songs and meets the makers.

Sarah worked with Woodford Folk Festival as their publicist in 2018, and continues to promote artists through her publicity business.

Sarah writes feature articles for Rhythms magazine, Australia's largest roots music magazine, and has been contributing to triple j magazine and Double J online for the past decade.

A woman with many hats, Sarah has been referred to as the ‘Swiss army knife of music and media’. She follows her passions and loves to spread the good music far and wide.
